Codiekinz' Top 10 books of 2014!

I don’t know about you guys, but I love year reviews! Whether that’s the ‘Top 10 news stories of the year’, or even the ‘100 stupidest words that were used in 2015’, I love a nostalgic look back at the year. As this is the year I fell back in love with reading after finishing my degree (yay!) I figured the best review I could do is the 10 best books I read this year! Granted, not many of these books were actually released in 2015, but I read them and loved them.

A Very Codiekinz Christmas! (Or why I am glad I didn't get a Michael Kors watch)

Merry Christmas all! I hope you've had a lovely, relaxing (haha!) holiday with family, and are full of good tidings and happiness. I've had a great Christmas, as always. We spend the actual day with Steven's family as there are four children, and Christmas is way more exciting with small, excitable children! We visit my family after Boxing Day, to draw out the festivities and make the most of it. At the grand old age of 23 and childless, I still embrace Christmas as my favourite day of the year, however every year it seems to last less time and fly by quicker! Your second Christmas in a relationship is an odd one, I feel...

Why I'm glad my Kickstarter failed. Sort of.

With 11 hours to go on my Kickstarter campaign and £2399 left to reach my goal, I am feeling weirdly positive. Don’t get me wrong, I am not completely deluded, I know that I am not going to get it funded in the next few hours. What I am happy about, however, is the opportunity this has given me.

Why I'm glad I had a Crappy Christmas once

One year, both my parents lost their jobs within months of one another, just before winter and it hit my family hard. It was neither of their faults, just one of those rubbish ‘life’ things that sneaks up on you and punches you in the face when you really don’t have the time or energy for it. In the run up to Christmas, our parents told myself and my younger sister that we would not be getting any presents for Christmas.

The Buda-best of Budapest

We’ve had an amazing four days and I already know a few people who are planning on venturing out to Budapest this side of Christmas, so I want to make sure my reviews and blogs on this are as detailed as possible. Hopefully they’ll be just as interesting to read for those just wanting to know about our trip, as they will be useful to those using them as travel advice.

Facebook Selling Sites...

In this amazing 21st Century world of putting people into space and curing disease, I think we can safely say that technology has contributed a lot to our lives and the development of the entire human race. One area, however, where I would perhaps argue that technology has sent us back to neanderthal days is with social media. I know, I know, every man and his dog has a blog complaining about Facebook, and yet we all use it to promote aforementioned blog - Blogception perhaps?

An exciting new project...!

I am so excited to be able to share this project with you! The idea came to me in the middle of the night (as the best ideas do!) after weeks of desperately trying to think of a good topic for a video. Instead of just thinking of just one video idea, I came up with a whole channel idea!

Bridget Jones - Mad about the Boy Review

I love Bridget Jones, from her giant knickers to her familiar ability to always say the wrong thing at the wrong time. I have read the first two books more times than I could even count and will watch the films whenever they happen to be on good old ITV2. It makes sense, then, that when I heard Helen Fielding was releasing a new Jones’ adventure, I was giddy with excitement!

I love my Kindle!

As a lover of books, and an ex employee of one of the UK’s biggest bookshops, I should be ashamed to say that I own, and love, a Kindle e-reader. But I’m not. Not really.

I don't like duvet days...

A duvet day for me does not evoke feelings of a relaxed snuggle on the sofa, watching trashy TV and eating ice cream. In fact it is more likely to leave me feeling sweaty, a bit gross and panicky at how I’ve wasted a whole day doing nothing when I always have so much to do. Controversial opinion time: I do not really enjoy duvet days.
