Left Bank Brasserie Ormskirk

I've always walked past Left Bank Brasserie, but after three years of living in Ormskirk, tonight we finally ventured in. Even if the food was awful (which it absolutely wasn't) the customer service would more than make up for it! Within seconds, Steven's hand had been shook, and his beaFullSizeRender-1rd complemented. My coat was carefully taken off and hung on my chair. Throughout the meal I was called "m'lady" and "señoritaIMG_0770" and every little aspect was thought of. We didn't have to wait long for anything at all and everything was presented beautifully. I ordered a French house wine (as recommended by our waiter) and Steven got a Budweiser, which was carefully poured into a half pint glass. We chose the "early bird" deal which is two courses for £8.95. For starter I had a beautiful pâté with perfect toasted bread and Steven had the Left Bank vinaigrette. They were both incredible. For main, Steven had asparagus chicken and wedges and it was "succulent and delicious" (his words!). I had the rump steak (for an extra £2-something) and it was the best steak I've ever had. I had it medium and it melted in my mouth. It was huge and came with a generous helping of delicious potatoes. I couldn't fault it in the slightest. Finally, for desert, I had citron tart and Steven had a home made sticky toffee pudding. Both were wonderful. The staff were attentive throughout but not in a pestering, desperate way that restaurants can be at times. The meal came to £35.90 which for the quantity FullSizeRender-2 and quality was incredible. Rarely do I dine somewhere and leave utterly impressed and desperate to return but Left Bank is certainly this place.
