David Swimwear Tankini Review

David Swimwear Tankini Review

Why-books-are-better-than-people-2.jpg

Usually, I am a 100% bikini kinda girl. (Fun fact, I can barely swim, so calling it swimwear is a stretch for me, however I do happen to have an obscene amount of bikinis for someone so anxious around water! ) That said, after putting on some ‘relationship weight’, I stopped feeling quite so confident in them, and so, when the lovely folk at David Swimwear offered me the chance to try out some of their swimwear, I decided to opt for a tankini for a change. I was a little concerned that a tankini would make me feel frumpy and I’d end up looking like a middle-aged mum of two. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that of course, I just figured I had more time before that happened!). I didn’t get the chance to wear the tankini until our recent trip to Disneyland Paris, and the striking black and white print seemed very fitting.

Awkwardly putting it on and looking in the mirror, expecting the worst, I was actually pleasantly surprised! I didn’t exactly look like a Baywatch Babe, (it would take more than a piece of clothing to achieve that!) but it was actually a very flattering cut. I didn’t look like I was trying to hide anything and I felt a lot more comfortable than if I had been wearing a bikini.

Screen Shot 2015-09-09 at 08.23.28The print was unusual and it didn’t draw attention to any of my ‘problem areas’, like you’d assume bold prints would do. It was actually rather sophisticated!

Quality wise, it was good. With adjustable straps and a built in bra area (nothing worse than showing everyone how er... chilly the water is!) it was comfortable and, dare I say it, I actually felt good in it!

Sadly, this picture doesn't do it justice. Like most things, it looks much better in person and the mirror reflection was certainly more flattering, however, I will happily wear it again!

What do you think?
